Jan`s story: From limitation and frustration to adventure and exploration.

We're thrilled to introduce Jan, who recently joined the Exotek family! In our latest YouTube video, Jan shares his inspiring story about his journey with the Exoquad and how it has transformed his experience in the great outdoors.

Although he previously had an all-terrain electric power chair, he encountered several accidents where he tipped over and even got injured. This prompted him to seek a more stable and lightweight option to continue exploring the mountains and those hard-to-reach places that he longs to discover.

His old electric off-road wheelchair is super important and is very much in use in everyday life, whether it’s on public transport, in mellow terrain, or going to the grocery store. The Exoquad is not meant to replace compact powerchairs, but rather to take over the baton where these products become unsafe.

In Jan's own words:

"I’ve got my life back, plain and simple! I never thought I’d reach the places I’ve been so far. It’s been an amazing experience!"

For Jan, the Exoquad has meant the difference between feeling limited by his neurological condition and rediscovering his sense of adventure. Whether it's revisiting childhood memories or exploring nature safely, he’s been able to navigate terrains he never thought possible.

The Exoquad has not only expanded his mobility but has also provided him with newfound freedom. Jan certainly did enjoy his old powered “all-terrain” wheelchair but realized he could not use it to venture to places that increased the demands for stability, power, and traction beyond its capabilities.

Then one day he discovered the Exoquad through social media and realized this might be the solution he had been seeking all along. After a demo day with Exotek founder, Sigurd, Jan was sold. The next day, the order was in, and a few weeks later, a shiny new Exoquad stood on his doorstep. Jan hasn’t looked back since.

Jan used to work as a product developer and loves to create new solutions. It didn’t take long before he started exploring some add-ons like a rear-view camera and a GPS-link that he mounted on the handlebars.

This newfound sense of freedom and independence has truly been life-changing for him. With the Exoquad, those limitations are virtually eliminated. Ultimately, it allows him to lead the life he desires and engage in the activities he loves. The Exoquad is the perfect tool for achieving that.

The founders of Exotek, Mattias Storvestre and Sigurd Groven, created the Exoquad to address their own challenges related to outdoor life, accessible travel, and simply: fun and enjoyment! They soon realized it could also help countless others facing similar situations.
